How we work

A dynamic engineering team,
working with today's technology.

We take on the software development process end to end, from analysis through to production, and see it through. Our teams stay small and communicate directly, and we keep the technology we use current — which is what lets us complete the same scope on a shorter schedule and at a more predictable cost, without compromising on quality.

01

A dynamic team

The team doing the work is small and talks to you directly: the engineer who makes the decision also writes the code. With no layer in between, the feedback loop stays short and direction can change within the same week a need changes.

In practice

A named, stable team per engagement. Direct communication, regular demos of working software, and a plan that is updated as priorities move.

02

Current technology

We keep our stack current: .NET 8, Next.js, Azure as our core cloud expertise, and an AI-assisted development pipeline. A new technology runs in our own products before it goes anywhere near a client project.

In practice

Current frameworks and AI-assisted tooling reach your project already proven in production — the learning curve is not billed to you.

03

Cost and schedule

Today's tooling makes it possible to complete the same scope in noticeably less time than a few years ago. We build the plan and the budget around that reality, not around old effort tables.

In practice

Scope is split into increments, each with its duration and cost known up front. Progress is visible at every release, and any deviation is raised in the same week.

04

No compromise on quality

Speed is not won by skipping tests and code review. The few days gained that way are paid back with interest at the first production incident.

In practice

Code review, automated tests and builds run on every release. When the schedule tightens we discuss scope — never the quality gates.

In short: a dynamic team that owns the process from end to end, a delivery pipeline built on current technology, and a schedule met without lowering the quality bar.

Our services

Three service lines, one engineering standard.

You may need an entire product, a specific capability gap filled inside your team, or a ready solution. The same process, the same reporting discipline and the same quality bar apply to all three.

Service · 01

Software Development

From business analysis and interface design to backend, mobile, test automation and cloud infrastructure, every role sits under a single line of responsibility. At the end of the project you have not only a working product but the operating setup that keeps it running.

  • Scope, architecture and integration design
  • Web, mobile and API engineering
  • Custom AI agent development for your organisation
  • Test and production environments, in the cloud or on-premise
  • Post-launch monitoring, maintenance and releases

Service · 02

Expert Staffing

Our engineers join your team and work in your processes with your tooling. Technical management, code review and reporting remain our responsibility — the management overhead does not move to you.

  • Role reinforcement or a dedicated multi-role team
  • Alignment with your processes and tooling
  • Regular progress and quality reporting
  • First-month fit period, handover cost on us

Scope of service

Which responsibilities sit with us?

These nine items cover everything we take on in an end-to-end engagement. Only roles we actively run in our own products and client projects are listed here.

01

Business analysis and scope

Business rules, process flows and risks are documented; the boundaries of scope are agreed by both parties.

02

Solution architecture

The data model, integration boundaries and scaling scenarios are decided at the start of the project.

03

UI/UX design

User flows, prototypes and an interface system aligned with your corporate identity.

04

Backend and API

Layered .NET architecture, versioned service contracts and integration with enterprise systems.

05

Web and mobile engineering

Admin platforms, customer and field applications — all to one code and design standard.

06

Data and integration

Relational and document databases, data migration and integration with third-party systems.

07

Testing and quality assurance

Test strategy, automated verification gates, load and acceptance testing.

08

Cloud and DevOps

Azure is our core expertise; environment setup, delivery pipelines, backup and continuity scenarios on AWS, GCP and on-premise as well.

09

Operations and support

Monitoring, incident management, release planning and defined response times.

Engagement models

You decide where responsibility sits.

We offer three engagement models. The difference between them is not speed or price, but who holds planning, quality and delivery responsibility.

MODEL 01

Role Reinforcement

Closes a specific capability gap in your team quickly. The engineer works under your management, while technical development, cover and quality oversight remain with us.

MODEL 02

Dedicated Team

A dedicated multi-role team that takes a product or module end to end. Planning and reporting are run jointly and delivery responsibility is shared.

MODEL 03

Managed Delivery

We take contractual responsibility for the outcome of a defined scope of work. Planning, quality and delivery sit entirely with us.

Technology

Our core stack is narrow and deep.
The ecosystem we work in is wider.

Each area starts with our own core stack, followed by the technologies commonly used in that area across the enterprise, which we work with where a project calls for it. Whichever your current system is built on, we can pick it up from there.

Backend and services

  • Hugging Face

Each area lists what we run in production today — in our own products or in client systems — first, followed by widely used options in the same area that we work with when a project requires it. We do not introduce a technology into an enterprise system unless it has long-term vendor support, a security update track and enough depth in our team.

Long-term vendor support

We favour long-term support releases. Version upgrades are planned and run alongside the product roadmap.

A cloud-independent operating model

Azure is our core expertise, and we also work on AWS, GCP and on-premise environments. Wherever the environment sits, separation, backup and access management are set up to the same standard.

Dependency management

Third-party dependencies pass version and security review. Every component entering your approval process is on record.

How we work

Process is what makes delivery predictable.

Every step has a defined output that becomes the input of the next one. The stage a project is in can be reported at any time.

  1. 01

    Discovery and analysis

Business rules, process flows and risks are documented. The boundaries of scope — including what is explicitly out of scope — are defined up front.

  2. 02

    Design and architecture

User flows and system architecture are established together. The data model, integration boundaries and scaling scenarios are decided at this stage.

  3. 03

    Engineering and release

Work proceeds in short cycles; every change passes an automated verification gate before deployment to the target environment, in the cloud or on-premise. Progress is reported on a fixed cadence.

  4. 04

    Operations and support

Production is monitored and incidents are handled within defined response times. Release planning and capacity management are part of the service.

Products

Born from our own need,
built for enterprise use.

Both products came out of a concrete problem we met on a real client project. Synaptix is for teams answering the same question hundreds of times a day; Orchestrator automates the repetitive work in a delivery pipeline while keeping it under control.

From card to pull request,
under supervision.

An orchestration layer for Claude agents: it watches your board, runs the role the card calls for, completes the work and opens a pull request. Nothing moves forward without passing the policy and verification gates — working autonomously is not the same as working unsupervised.

  • Policy gate
  • Verification gate
  • Database discipline

Five stops, two gates.

  1. 01

    Card is picked up

The board is scanned at regular intervals. Which column triggers which role is defined in advance.

  2. 02

    Policy gate

Work that touches a hard boundary is stopped here and routed to human approval.

  3. 03

    Agent runs

Depending on the role, the analyst, developer or test agent takes over.

  4. 04

    Verification gate

Build and tests are run independently. An agent's own report does not count as verification.

  5. 05

    PR is opened

The branch is pushed, a pull request is opened and the card moves to the next column.

Pluggable integrations

Board, repository, notification and verification connections are each a separate module. Plug in what you need, remove what you don't; the flow is built around how your team already works, rather than the other way round.

About us

An engineering company that
builds products and operates them.

208 Software Solutions develops software for enterprise clients and operates its own products at the same time. The two sides feed each other: what we learn on client projects goes into our products, and what we solve in our products goes back into client work.

We do not deliver and step away. We remain responsible for keeping the system running in production — which means our decisions are driven by long-term sustainability rather than short-term delivery pressure.

01

Delivery is not enough

We are the ones keeping the product live. So when we say it works, we mean the running system, not the passing tests.

02

A rule lives in one place

Code that computes the same thing twice will eventually produce two different answers. Business rules are consolidated into a single decision point.

03

Irreversibility requires approval

Uncertainty does not stall progress; a decision is made and its rationale recorded. Only irreversible steps wait for human approval.

04

Data belongs to real people

Every row in the database is an organisation's or a person's record. Before a step that deletes data, the number of affected records is measured and reported.

05

An unwritten commitment does not count

Decisions, scope and outputs are put in writing. Information that flows only verbally is not a process — it is transferred risk.

06

A narrow but deep stack

We do not know every technology. We know ours very well, and we do not list capabilities we are not actually running.

Engagements

Organisations we work with

On some engagements we build and operate the entire product; on others we join the organisation's own team. The same engineering standard applies in both cases.

Our engineering standard

Quality depends on process,
not on individuals.

01

A business rule lives in one place

Rules such as status derivation, threshold calculation and permission checks are consolidated into a single decision point. Code that computes the same thing twice will eventually produce two different answers.

02

There is one path to production

Nothing is written directly to the main branch. Every change arrives as a review request, and deployment does not begin until the automated verification gate passes.

03

Data integrity comes first

Schema changes proceed under approval. Before any step that deletes or transforms data, the number of affected records is measured and reported.

04

Secrets are never written into code

Credentials are stored encrypted; service responses never return raw secrets, only connection status.

05

Interface text is separate from code

All copy comes from dictionary files. Adding a language means adding a file, not rewriting the product.

06

Verification happens on a running system

Passing tests alone are not considered sufficient. Behavioural changes are verified with real requests against a running environment, and the result is recorded.

Careers

A small team,
real responsibility.

Nobody here owns a single file. The code you write goes to production, and when something happens in production you are the one solving it. It is the hardest and most effective way to learn quickly.

Your code ships

No branches waiting for weeks. A pull request is opened, verification passes, the release goes live.

You make decisions

Uncertainty does not stop you. You make the reversible calls and write down the reasoning.

You are not locked into one role

Someone writing backend also touches the interface and sees the mobile app. You understand the whole system.

What we do not screen for

  • Years of experience — how many systems you shipped matters more
  • Which university you graduated from
  • Knowing every technology — knowing yours well is enough

Building a new system,
or handing over an existing one?

In both cases the first step is a short technical conversation. We map the scope together and share a written assessment — no commitment required before a proposal.
